Responsible Pharmacist

ZenPharm is an established medicinal cannabis manufacturing company, regulated by the laws of Malta and of the European Union. The company has the facilities to manufacture medicinal cannabis products and has seen extensive operational growth in the past months. The company is seeking to recruit a Responsible Pharmacist to join the Quality team on a part-time basis. Candidates will be given a unique opportunity to receive specialized training that is in line with our strategic growth.

Main Objectives of the Job:

• To coordinate security and accountability of medicinal cannabis manufacturing operations as a Responsible Pharmacist in coordination with the site QP / Responsible Pharmacists.


• To actively participate in the introduction of new products and technologies by leading and supporting validation, qualification and risk management activities to ensure the compliance of pharmaceutical manufacturing activities whilst striving to improve company practices.


• To manage the material and supplier qualification systems so as to mitigate risks associated with the supply chain and ensures that products manufactured are safe and effective for patients.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:

• To ensure the accountability of raw material received, dispensing, manufacturing sampling, distribution, waste disposal and any other movements of medicinal cannabis.


• To coordinate the facility security services in collaboration with sub-contracted security service providers.


• To monitor audit and supervise facility security measures so as to ensure that deficiencies are addressed in a timely fashion.


• To participate in projects related to medicinal cannabis at the facility.


• To coordinate process validation for new manufacturing processes for pharmaceutical products and medicinal cannabis.


• To support the introduction of new technologies at the manufacturing site as part of technology transfers


• To carry out supplier and material qualification activities.


• To assist in the preparation of Product Quality Reviews (PQRs), Annual Quality Reports (AQRs) and other relevant quality documents.


• To participate in continuous improvement projects.

Minimum Requirements:

• Qualified Pharmacist registered with the Maltese Pharmacy Council.


• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools.


• CEFR B2 (Upper Intermediate) in English.

The chosen candidate must exhibit strong interpersonal skills and willingness to learn continuously, be well-educated, organized, have an eye for detail and good communication skills.
