Operations Manager

Villa Bologna Pottery has been making handmade and hand-painted ceramics since 1924. We create tableware, lamps and decorative pieces from earthenware clay.

The role
We are looking for an energetic, hardworking, organised and responsible candidate who can run a team, take responsibility and ensure smooth and efficient operations in production. It is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team.

• Be a natural communicator and excellent at building relationships


• Be a problem solver


• Have an advanced level of computer literacy


• Have excellent communication skills, verbal and written in English


• Have excellent organisation skills and an eye for detail

Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day running of the production and shop


• Manage all production staff making sure everyone is motivated, has a properly assigned schedule and has clear instructions for the daily production plan


• Monitor equipment and manage any maintenance schedules and repairs


• Monitor raw materials stock levels and liaise with suppliers and transporters for orders


• Manage all shipments from suppliers' orders to customers


• Oversee quality control


• Plan short-term and long-term production requirements in line with the yearly production plan, current stock requirements in the UK and Malta and B2B orders
