AML Compliance Officer

As part of our growth strategy, an opportunity has arisen for an AML Compliance Officer within our team in Malta. If you have relevant experience and are looking for career advancement this is your opportunity.

You will be reporting to the Head of Legal and Compliance.

Key Functions:

• Updating AML procedures based on regulations;


• Ensure that procedures and policies comply with regulations


• Assisting with monthly AML reporting;


• Monitoring the STR escalation procedure and regular STR monitoring;


• Monitoring, reviewing quality control and enhancing the customer risk assessment model, the business risk assessment and the enhanced due diligence process;


• Acting as a subject matter expert for the business and point of reference to address AML / KYC related queries;


• Assisting the Chief Risk Officer and the Money Laundering Reporting Officer in complex investigations assuring business risk is mitigated effectively and quickly or assuring high quality information is disseminated to senior management.


• Conducting related training and testing

Skills and Experience:

• Familiarity with AML regulations and guidelines (4^th,5th AML directive, FIAU implementing procedures) is a must;


• 4+ years of experience in risk, AML and KYC processes within the banking industry or payments industry;


• An analytical approach; ability to identify / prioritise initiatives with the highest impact;


• JIRA and confluence knowledge will be considered an asset.

Education:

• Post-secondary diploma - A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Banking, Commerce, Law or any other similar qualification, from a licensed and recognised educational institute.


• AML certification will be considered an asset.
