As a Housekeeping Attendant at The NEU Collective, your duties include not only performing cleaning and servicing of guests’ rooms to ensure a pleasant and comfortable experience but also joining a welcoming, friendly, and talented team that will support your professional growth.
Responsibilities:
- Takes a proactive approach to the cleaning and servicing of guest rooms and surrounding areas including back-of-house activity of the Housekeeping Department, anticipating potential opportunities.
- Maintains effective communication within the department and ensures that the Supervisor / Executive Housekeeper is kept well informed of any problems / queries that have arisen.
- Report any problems / complaints to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Executive Housekeeper.
- Is responsible for the cleanliness and replenishment of supplies in guestrooms and ensures the comfort of all Hotel guests as established by hotel procedures and standards.
- Signs in / out floor keys and pagers.
- Cleans and services guestrooms, public areas and back–of–house according to the established procedures and hotel standards and reports any discrepancies found throughout the day to the Floor Housekeeper.
- Ensures that the work areas, equipment, and supplies are always kept in a clean and orderly manner and will report any maintenance defects directly to the concerned department.
- Reports any valuable items found in check-out rooms or left lying in the open to the housekeeping office and direct supervisor.
- Is aware of repeated guests and ensures optimal guest satisfaction is delivered by ensuring that their preferences are met. Reports any guest’s special requests / preferences to the Housekeeping Supervisor so that guest history can be updated.
- Knows all facilities in the properties and checks them to ensure that all is functioning correctly. Reports any malfunctions immediately.
- Carries out daily general cleaning and completes within the specified time of schedule, including the quarterly turning of mattresses.
The potential candidate will ideally possess the following skills and qualities:
- Proven housekeeping or hospitality experience.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to multi-task and able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment.
- Good command of English. Other languages would be considered an asset.
- Must be able to work shift duties, including evenings, weekends, and / or holidays.
