Data Scientist

STMicroelectronics Malta is seeking to employ a Data Scientist to join their team.

The selected candidate will be a team player who can also work on their own initiative. They will work in collaboration with a team on all aspects of a project. This includes data extraction, organization of the data storage, quality, reliability and analytical analysis, creation of predictive and prescriptive data models, effectivity analysis of these models.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Identifying valuable data sources and automating collection processes


• Undertaking pre-processing of structured and unstructured data


• Analyzing large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns


• Building custom prescriptive and predictive models to address business problems using data analytics and machine learning techniques


• Evaluating the effectiveness of these models


• Combining models through ensemble modelling


• Presenting information using data visualization techniques


• Proposing solutions and strategies to business challenges


• Collaborating with engineering and product development teams

Skills and Qualifications:

• Possess an MSc in Computer Science, AI, Engineering, or relevant field


• Have experience in data mining, machine learning and data analytics


• Be knowledgeable on Python and SQL


• Have strong mathematical skills


• Have a good problem-solving aptitude


• Have excellent communication and presentation skills


• Familiarity with R, Java or C# will be considered an asset
