Maintenance Operative

St. Aloysius College is seeking to recruit an Operative to perform maintenance duties at the College.

The duties and responsibilities of the selected candidate will include:

• Plastering, painting and tiling works;


• Supervising labourers and / or skilled labourers;


• Carpentry, joinery, aluminium, and other related works for the College and College-related activities;


• Plumbing and electrical duties;


• Repairs, maintenance and minor works on grounds and buildings of College property;


• Use of various hand tools and small power tools, including the use of a ladder;


• Assisting in the loading / unloading and shifting of furniture or similar items;


• Driving College-owned vehicle;


• Monitoring collection of refuse and waste separation, within the school premises, and ensuring that it is taken out for public collection according to the schedule;


• Laying, fixing and operating the irrigation system;


• Any other related duties as directed by the Precincts Officer.

Skills and experience:

• Able to communicate in both Maltese and English;


• Be in possession of a clean driving licence;


• Ability to work well in a team;


• Preference will be given to candidates who have work experience in this field.
