Reporting to the Director, of Financial and Regulatory Reporting, Europe, the Financial and Regulatory Reporting Data Analyst provides support to the team covering regulatory reporting, assists in the data collection and analysis, and supports the company’s business implications.

Responsibilities

  • Data-related responsibilities

    • Collecting and analysing data from multiple sources, ensuring the quality, validity and reliability of data fields;

    • Developing reports containing statistical data;

    • Extracting and compiling information to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual scheduled reporting requirements;

    • Preparing reports, including supportive charts and graphic material giving interpretation of collected data within ad-hoc reports and dashboards;



  • Reporting-related responsibilities

    • Preparing and submitting the relevant regulatory reports (BR03, BR05 and BR06 amongst others) accurately and on time;

    • Ensuring that reporting issues are identified and escalated to senior management;

    • Responding to regulatory inquiries;

    • Identifying potential improvements in processes and preparation of data, automating and standardising reporting processes, while also working towards improving and streamline processes;

    • Providing support in the compilation and submission of regulatory reporting emanating from other companies within the group;

    • Assisting in the preparation of executive decks highlighting key regulatory indicators and any required metrics; and

    • Assist in any ad hoc projects to support department and management’s decisions.




Requirements

  • Possess a University of Malta Honours degree in Accounting or pursuing equivalent qualifications;

  • Relevant working experience, preferably in a banking or statistical / regulatory environment, is considered an asset, although training will be provided;

  • Experience with BI and data warehousing design principles is considered an asset;

  • Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications, mainly Excel including creating tables, writing queries, data manipulation and quantitative and qualitative analysis;

  • Team player, with a positive mindset, excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude;

  • Possesses strong analytical skills, quality-oriented attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
