Reporting into the VP of Compliance and MLRO, Europe, the Compliance Officer will be responsible for supporting the compliance function role of ensuring the institution's adherence to all applicable regulatory and legal requirements, developing, implementing and monitoring internal policies, conducting compliance reviews and training, and managing compliance projects.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor new regulatory and legal developments and identify those that are applicable and impacting the Bank and its activities
- Developing and endorsing internal policies and procedures
- Preparing reports, and presentations related to compliance matters
- Offering support with preparing and implementing a Compliance Monitoring program
- Building high-quality training materials and conducting training as part of the compliance training program
- Coordinating compliance regulatory projects, conducting gap analysis, working with various stakeholders, responsible persons and agreeing on deadlines and following up and reporting on project development
- Participating in compliance testing activities, identifying risks and mitigating measures and drafting and preparing compliance reports
- Ensure the company’s compliance with the rules and regulations relating to compliance, governance, conduct, internal control, anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing and all applicable policies and procedures
- Conducting due diligence reviews on vendors, via the designated third-party management system
- Reviewing on an annual basis the AML business risk assessment by identifying risks, evaluating new products and existing controls and measuring the inherent and residual AML risks
- Documenting analysis of new solutions and controls to be implemented in order to enhance compliance and AML capabilities
- Conducting searches on incoming queries and requests for information from regulators, FIAU, Police, Asset Recovery Bureau, etc. and preparing on-time replies through goAML, e-mail and/or hard copy letters for these requests
- Offering support with regulatory reviews and queries and request for information from regulators and authorities
- Supporting the organisation's licensing strategy, including variations of permissions, new applications and authorisations of key individuals
- Assisting the VP of Compliance and MLRO with mandatory reporting obligations
Requirements:
- At least three years professional experience working in compliance, legal or risk-related roles at a bank, payment services provider, financial institution, bank, fin-tech company, financial regulatory agency, or professional services firm serving financial institution clients
- Knowledge of financial industry regulatory requirements and understanding of payment services, especially card acquiring and local payment methods
- Excellent proven track record of effectively creating and developing policies and procedures
- Good abilities at building PowerPoint presentations and preparing training materials
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to provide useful and efficient counsel
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
