We are looking for a Pastry Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team at our Resort.

The selected candidate will assist the Pastry Chef and participate in the production to ensure food operations provide the highest food quality.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Pastry Chef in the production, preparation and presentation of all food items to assure the highest quality at all times.

  • Adheres to standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation set out by the Pastry Chef or the Resort’s management team.

  • Ensures proper staffing and adequate supplies for all internal departments.

  • Ensures that food preparation and presentation are in line with guidelines set out by the Pastry Chef, menus, and Resort’s guidelines.

  • Assists the Pastry Chef in food cost analysis and any other departmental expenditure.

  • Assures proper safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices are followed.

  • Assists Pastry Chef in checking and ordering of food items.

  • Encourages increased communication between kitchen production and service staff.

  • Confers closely and regularly with the Pastry Chef and takes every opportunity to become familiar with all aspects of his position, in order to be ready to fill in whenever required.


Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Highly organised and smart.

  • Able to manage teams.

  • Good knowledge of HACCP.

  • Able to handle the responsibility of production, preparation and food items.
