Prime Care Ltd is seeking to recruit a Housekeeping Supervisor working on a full-time basis in a Residential Care home in Rabat, Malta. The Housekeeping Supervisor will be responsible for managing all aspects of housekeeping operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and comfort for residents. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role involves overseeing a team of housekeepers, managing supplies, coordinating cleaning schedules, and ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols. The Housekeeping Supervisor will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, welcoming and dignified environment for residents, in line with Primecare’s mission and values.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise and coordinate the Housekeeping team to ensure timely and efficient cleaning of all areas within the facility, including resident rooms, common areas and offices.

  • Develop, implement and monitor housekeeping procedures and schedules to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.

  • Train and mentor housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, health and safety standards and use of cleaning equipment and products.

  • Conduct regular inspections of all areas to ensure cleanliness, supplies, safety and compliance with internal and external standards.

  • Collaborates with the general manager to manage budgets related to cleaning supplies, equipment and any other required items.

  • Ensure that laundry services are managed efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate records of housekeeping activities, inventory levels and maintenance issues, reporting any significant concerns to the General Manager.

  • Collaborate with other departments to address cleaning or setup needs for special events, repairs or deep cleaning schedules.

  • Respond promptly to residents’ requests and concerns regarding housekeeping services, ensuring that their needs are met with compassion and respect.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and adherence to infection control protocols.

  • Promote a positive team environment by encouraging open communication, teamwork and initiative within the housekeeping staff.

  • Follow the company's standard operating procedures and policies.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a housekeeping role, ideally within a healthcare, hospitality or elderly care setting.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of housekeeping procedures, health and safety standards and relevant regulations.

  • Strong organization and time-management skills with an eye for detail and high standards of cleanliness.

  • Good communication skills both verbal and written preferably in Maltese and English.

  • Ability to handle physical tasks and operate cleaning equipment.

  • Basic proficiency in IT for reporting and inventory management.

  • Displays integrity and honesty.
