Plum Operations Ltd is a company that owns different brands under the umbrella of artisanal chocolate / cakes / confectionary / bakery and viennoiseries. The brand Sunday in Scotland creates luxurious, artistic chocolates, cakes and confectionary, combining sweets, art and culture. We are currently looking for an HR Specialist to join our team and monitor all human resources functions.

HR Specialist responsibilities include preparing compensation and benefits packages, setting up company policies and maintaining updated employee records. To be successful in this role, you should have a good understanding of the full employee life cycle and solid knowledge of Maltese labour legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, and offboarding

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of recruitment strategies to attract top talent while assisting with the entire hiring process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offer negotiations

  • Identifying training needs, developing training programs and facilitating training sessions to enhance employee skills and knowledge

  • Conducting performance evaluations, provide feedback, and assist in the development of performance improvement plans

  • Ensuring a smooth onboarding process for new hires and managing the offboarding process for departing employees

  • Assisting in the creation and implementation of HR policies and procedures that comply with legal requirements and support company objectives

  • Providing guidance and support to employees and management on HR-related matters, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions

  • Contributing to the development and execution of HR strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives

  • Assisting with other HR-related tasks and projects as needed by the management team


Requirements and skills

  • Proven work experience as an HR Specialist or relevant role

  • A solid understanding of Maltese labour law

  • Familiarity with full-cycle recruiting

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Good problem-solving abilities

  • Team management skills

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field would be considered a great advantage

  • Adept at handling work permits and visa processes for non-EU employees
