Carpenter / General Maintenance Person

Paradise Bay Hotel Limited in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Carpenter / General Maintenance Person to join their team on a full-time basis.

Role
Responsible for performing a variety of carpentry and general maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep and functionality of our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Reports to
Maintenance Manager and will liaise with all Heads of Department as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.


• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.


• Conduct inspections of facilities and equipment to identify issues and recommend solutions.


• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.


• Collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.


• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.


• Assist in the planning and execution of renovation and remodeling projects.


• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and prioritize tasks effectively.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar maintenance role.


• Proficient in using hand and power tools.


• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in maintenance.


• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.


• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.
