An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Learning and Development Executive to join the Human Resources department of the Malta Marriott Resort & Spa, part of Marriott International and one of Malta’s leading 5-star hotels. Reporting to the HR Manager, the purpose of this position is to engage with the Malta Marriott team, focusing within the organisation and providing comprehensive learning and development to all operative employees to support the achievement of corporate and individual vision and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the effective running and implementation of the Marriott orientation and brand training programme to all new recruits.

  • Ensuring that all statutory training is delivered in an effective and timely manner both internally and externally.

  • Assist the Hotel departments with their learning and development requests; provide ongoing support and maintain good records.

  • Promote training initiatives with all associates.

  • Build a yearly schedule for the training of associates.

  • Plan and ensure provision for all annual required learning and development activities in line with business needs and projections within our comprehensive annual budget.

  • Assist with the execution and promotion of the associates’ annual performance appraisals.

  • Act as the main point of contact for the entire internship process at the hotel including contact with the educational institutions, students as well as supporting organizations.

  • Maintain all records of any licensing required by associates up to date and inform associates and management accordingly when licenses are about to expire.

  • Assist with all means of communication with associates are kept updated including any social media venues, emails as well as the associate's notice board.

  • Submit associates’ data reports by assembling, preparing, and analyzing data.

  • Become a Marriott Learning Coordinator and keep records of all training organized.

  • Take responsibility for purchasing all required training materials, resources and providers in line with our company purchase order and invoicing procedures.

  • Support with the organization of associate events.

  • Assist in HR projects in liaison with the HR team.


Qualifications

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.

  • Needs to be computer literate (MS Office).

  • Be able to work under pressure with minimum supervision.

  • Requires good communication and public speaking skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Must have exceptional organizational skills.

  • A Hospitality or HR or Psychology-related degree would be desirable.

  • A learning and development background with some experience in training others or public speaking.
