Quality Assurance Executive

The position is accountable to the Quality Manager and as part of the Quality Assurance team. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing the requirements of the Company’s Quality Management System. The incumbent will also be responsible to promote quality achievements and performance improvements throughout the organisation.

General Responsibilities

• Performs internal spotchecks / audits;


• Supports in internal, external customer / authority audits;


• Identifies and records audit deficiencies, instigates appropriate and timely corrective action and follows up until satisfactory resolution is achieved;


• Executes the provision and requirements of the company’s authorisation system;


• Investigates occurrences and provides the necessary feedback;


• Actively participates in quality engineering and continuous improvement of processes and procedures.

Technical Responsibilities

• Quality management system;


• Manages and supports in updates to IQ MOVE processes, carries out conformity check of revised processes in compliance with the requirements of EASA Part 145;


• Drives key changes and continuous improvement internally and also to standardize quality procedures and processes within the LHT Group;


• Reviews and implements ISO Requirements to establish best practice;


• Ensures competence of authorized personnel and is responsible to issue and maintain authorizations accordingly;


• Issues experience statements for employees and contractors;


• Communicates quality information and manages the read and sign system.

Surveillance and Auditing

• Responsible for the management of the audit plan and implements revisions where necessary;


• Analyses corrective / preventative actions taken for non conformities raised to identify possible trends and to prevent re-occurrence of a deficiency.

Monitoring and Communications

• Monitors key performance indicators to ensure compliance and efficiency;


• Drivesquality reporting, standardizes reporting on quality trends, management reviews and feedback system;


• Communicates occurrences within the Q Star system, LHT Sharepoint system and LEARN Magazine to facilitate learning within the LHT Group network.

Trending and Analyses

• Analyses incidence and occurrences to establish the cost of non quality;


• Establishes Best Practice within the LHT Group for incident / accident investigation;


• Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

• Ensures to be well-informed and up-to-date on the requirements of the specific position responsibilities.

Working Conditions

• Expected to work flexible hours in order to meet deadlines and attend to meetings after office hours;


• May be required to travel on company business;


• May be required to perform duties in the next senior position as part of personal development programme.

Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications

• Knowledge of the position specific field of expertise;


• Seasoned judgment and the ability to set priorities and take decisions;


• Demonstrated capability to manage one’s time and co-ordinate matters needing attention;


• Knowledge and ability to work in a fully computerised environment;


• High level of interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills;


• Skills relating to speed and accuracy in position related tasks;


• Strong organisational ability to provide support and deal with a broad variety of issues and prioritise issues;


• Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision;


• Ability to work as part of a team;


• A good command of English and Maltese both spoken and written;


• Be the holder of a Part 66 B1 / B2 or C Aircraft Maintenance licence in any type category; Or


• A recognised engineering degree with a minimum of two years Aviation MRO experience; Or


• Have a minimum of 5 years experience in the aviation industry; Or


• Have held the position of Authorised Quality Engineer in another Part 145 Organisation.
