Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated kindergarten teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for teaching young children and the ability to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
Eligibility Criteria:
- A minimum requirement of MQF Level 5 in kindergarten.
- Prior experience working with young children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in Maltese and English is essential.
- Candidates must present a clean police conduct.
- Excellent communication skills, patience, creativity, and a passion for early childhood education.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development to stay updated with the latest teaching methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Curriculum development: Design and implement a comprehensive, age-appropriate curriculum that promotes holistic development—cognitive, social, emotional, and physical - through play-based learning and hands-on activities.
- Classroom management: Create and maintain a positive, organized, and nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and positive behavior.
- Individualized instruction: Assess the unique needs and learning styles of each child to tailor teaching strategies and provide individualized support, ensuring all students can thrive.
- Observation and assessment: Regularly observe and document student progress, using assessment tools to inform instruction and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Collaboration with colleagues: Work collaboratively with other educators and support staff to share best practices, resources, and strategies for enhancing student learning and development.
- Parent communication: Establish strong relationships with parents through regular communication about their child’s progress, behavior, and development, including hosting parent-teacher meetings and workshops.
- Professional development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about current trends and research in early childhood education, integrating new techniques and methodologies into the classroom.
- Health and safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by adhering to health and safety regulations, conducting regular safety drills, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom.
- Cultural sensitivity: Promote an inclusive environment that respects and values diversity, fostering an understanding of different cultures and backgrounds among students.
- Extra-curricular activities: Organize and participate in extra-curricular activities, events, and field trips that enhance the learning experience and encourage social skills.
