Health Claims Operations Officer

LifeStar Insurance (Bupa Malta) is currently seeking an Operations Officer for Health Claims.

The candidate will be responsible for processing health insurance claims. The job holder participates in the smooth running of the health claims department, at all times ensuring excellent service to Bupa Malta customers.

Duties

• Review claim submission, verify the information and determine cover


• Properly document medical claims; update and maintain database


• Correspond with claimants, medical advisors and service providers


• Calculate claim amounts and process payments


• Communicate claim decisions to the insured


• Preparing ad-hoc statements


• Identifying complaints and following internal procedures


• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and guidelines in addition to local insurance regulations


• Maintain excellent customer care service standards


• Ensure all claims information remains confidential


• Other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, which may be assigned from time to time

Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications

• Working knowledge of the insurance industry


• Critical thinking and decision-making skills, and high attention to detail


• Good administrative and organisational skills


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications


• Fluent in written and spoken Maltese and English


• CII certification would be considered an asset
