Supermarket Manager

Lasco Supermarket is a family-run operation serving families and businesses for grocery items. Established in 1998 and located in the south of Malta, this supermarket has served thousands of satisfied customers throughout its years in service.

Due to growth in the business, we have an exciting job opportunity for a full-time Supermarket Manager.

The ideal candidate for the role is someone who has managerial experience, is willing to work full-time on a shift basis, is service-driven, flexible and can face on-the-job challenges with a can-do and positive outlook.

Overview of Job Opportunity
The successful candidate will:

• Involve him / herself with coaching the front of house staff members to deliver the best possible customer service.


• By carrying out this duty, the Supermarket Manager will be diligent in being proactive in following and delegating tasks to the team.


• Support in the delivery of the business KPI’s and other targets as set by the company.


• Monitor the performance of the front of house staff.


• Ensure that the supermarket is kept in top form and adequately stocked during all shop opening hours.

Responsibilities and Duties
Main tasks will include:

• Meeting the company’s sales targets by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to members of the store staff.


• Ensuring that customers satisfaction levels are maintained at all times.


• Liaising with top management and junior staff in the instance of new campaigns, products and initiatives.


• Creating and monitoring of staff schedules / rosters and other administrative tasks.


• Ensuring that the supermarket is adequately stocked, is in top form and visual merchandising standards are maintained.


• Communication and follow with directors and their designate on customer feedback, complaints etc.


• Being proactive and proposing innovative ideas to increase the supermarket’s market share etc).


• Setting a good example to staff for excellent performance and adhering to company policies.

Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate:

• Must be able to communicate fluently in English and Maltese.


• Must already be a resident of the Maltese Islands.


• Should have a minimum of 2 years managerial experience ideally in a supermarket environment.


• Must be available to work on a shift basis and on periodical Sundays and Public Holidays.


• Should be a highly motivated person who is proactive and willing to further develop his / her own skills and others.


• Must have a working knowledge of MS Office applications.


• Possesses great people and customer management skills.


• Possesses strong organisational skills.


• Has good communication and interpersonal skills.


• Must be a team player, friendly, polite and helpful.
