IT Support Technician

The company requires an IT Support Technician to perform the following tasks:

• Assessing the technical needs of the staff of clients.


• Establishing and maintaining strong relationships across teams and with staff / clients.


• Measure service satisfaction levels.


• Managing and upholding the troubleshooting escalation process.


• Managing hardware and software.


• Resolving system and application issues.


• Assisting with IT equipment sourcing and budgeting.


• Occasionally working with third parties to rectify issues.


• Identifying gaps in the support process and amending it accordingly.


• Creating documentation and upkeeping of the documentation.


• Monitoring the client network / system infrastructure with the Network Monitoring system.


• Collaborating with the IT team on the development and maintenance of network / system infrastructure.


• Providing technical end-user support, performing troubleshooting, and resolving network issues.


• Maintaining networking / system domains and enhancing network / system performance.


• Running diagnostic tests on the communication between computers, network devices, and system equipment.


• Installing, configuring, and updating networking/system accessories for end-users.


• Optimising network/system capacity and performance to keep up with demand in network traffic and system load.


• Developing data security, backup, archiving, and retrieval procedures.


• Training junior IT staff and providing on-site field technicians with remote technical support.


• Enhancing network / system security, as well as documenting network processes, repairs, and cabling layouts.


• Keeping informed of advancements in network/system infrastructure and technologies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related area.


• 2 to 4 years of experience with network engineering on Cisco equipment and administration in a Linux or Windows environment.


• Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals.


• A valid Maltese or EU driving license.
