Harmony Jets is an aircraft management company based in Malta, which is continuously undergoing dynamic expansion.

We are looking at adding more personnel at our offices at the Quad Towers within the Central Business District in Birkirkara and are looking for an ambitious and forward-thinking Cost Controller to join our dynamic and target-driven in-house team to help us improve our internal control processes.

The employment shall be on an indefinite basis and we are offering a salary that remunerates the skills and competences of the candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Gain a detailed understanding of the Group’s business with particular emphasis on the assigned areas of responsibility, financial reporting, timeframes, processes, and systems

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimise purchasing processes

  • Source and evaluate service providers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability for the necessary services the company would need in connection with its planned operations and identify the ideal provider for these services

  • Manage the business relationship with the service providers and negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with them

  • Regularly check prices with service providers to determine if there have been any updates or modifications.

  • Review in detail all the invoices the company receives, confirming that the company is being billed correctly for the services it acquired

  • Analyse the numbers and challenge the data, seeking and offering explanations when necessary

  • Present to management explanations and analysis to support the costs and variances from budget or the quotes obtained on a regular basis, as well as other ad hoc analysis required from time to time

  • Analyse contracts and present feasibility analysis where required

  • Monitor and analyse expenditures to identify cost-saving opportunities

  • Assist in documenting and updating internal processes and procedures as necessary and contribute to the overall development and continuous improvement of such processes through feedback and active participation. Setting up quality checkpoints and controls as necessary


Requirements

  • Have proven work experience in a similar role

  • Have professional behaviour with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude for an impeccable first impression to the customers

  • Organized and methodological

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail

  • Self-motivated and self-driven, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team

  • Trustworthy and ethical, accepts and delivers on responsibilities and requires others to follow through on commitments

  • Able to generate new ideas and solutions from self and others. An ability and desire to go beyond the familiar

  • Fluent in written and spoken English (Knowledge of French would be considered as an asset)

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
