You will work in a team of professionals and we expect you to take an active part in establishing high quality and professional accounting practice. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Collecting data and computing employee payroll within the established deadlines


• Keeping employee records up to date for benefits eligibility, insurance coverage, changes in role / department, salaries, promotions etc.


• Keeping educated and informed on the latest employment law of Malta


• Having a good understanding of the fringe benefit rules


• Calculating and reconciling for employer’s and employee’s social security and taxes


• Preparing payroll files for settlement to employees according to the payment structure of the organization


• Filing of the monthly FS5 and annual FS7; ability to independently reconcile balances


• Inputting of the monthly payroll records for the Malta Group of Companies onto the accounting system


• Preparing relevant reports for management on monthly, quarterly and year-end basis


• Assisting in the preparation and submission of tax returns on behalf of the employees


• Acting as a first point of contact for payroll related queries


• Submission of NSO and MGA questionnaires


• Maintaining close relationship with Human Resources in ensuring a smooth process to the payroll cycle

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in the payroll function


• Experience using payroll software, working with Dakar will be considered an asset


• Ability to work with Microsoft Office


• Has good working knowledge of Maltese employment law


• Maintains general knowledge in accounting


• Ability to maintain accuracy while performing the tasks given and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines


• Must be organised, well-structured and flexible


• Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality


• Good command of English both verbally and written


• Possess positive attitude, willingness to work in a dynamic environment
