The Turnaround Coordinator is an essential role within Aviaserve, tasked with orchestrating, monitoring, and optimizing all activities associated with aircraft operations. As well as acting as the central point of contact for all ground operations teams and works closely with airline personnel, ground handlers, and other stakeholders


This position involves coordinating all ground operations activities, including loading, refuelling, catering, and crew changes, to ensure that the aircraft is ready for its next departure on schedule, monitoring the offloading and loading of luggage, cargo and mail, disembarkation and embarkation of passengers and marshalling of all aircraft types. Our aim is to ensure not only the safety and efficiency of each turnaround but also to maintain a consistently high standard of service to our airline partners.


Key Responsibilities:




  • Coordination of ground operations:



    • Oversee and coordinate all activities during the aircraft turnaround, including loading/unloading, refueling, catering, cleaning, and crew changes.

    • Ensure that all ground handling services are delivered on time and in accordance with airline and regulatory standards.

    • Act as the primary point of contact for airline staff, ground handlers, and other stakeholders during the turnaround process.



  • Communication and liaison:



    • Maintain clear and effective communication with flight crews, ground handling teams, and other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient turnaround.

    • Provide real-time updates on the progress of turnaround activities to all relevant parties.

    • Address and resolve any issues or delays promptly, ensuring minimal impact on the flight schedule.



  • Monitoring and reporting:



    • Monitor the progress of all turnaround activities, ensuring they are completed within the allocated time frame.

    • Record and report any deviations from the planned schedule, including delays and their causes, to the TRC Supervisor or relevant Manager.

    • Conduct post-turnaround reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective action as necessary.



  • Safety and compliance:



    • Ensure all turnaround operations are conducted in compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.

    • Participate in safety briefings and ensure that all ground handling teams are aware of safety protocols.

    • Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety measures during the turnaround.




General Duties:




  • Assist with other ground operations tasks as required to ensure smooth airport operations.

  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay current with industry standards and best practices.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the TRC Supervisor or relevant Manager.


Requirements:




  • Proficiency in both oral and written English.

  • Competency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Organised with exceptional multitasking capabilities.

  • Problem-solving aptitude.

  • Customer-centric approach.

  • EU / UAE / Maltese Driving license.

  • Valid work permit.


Educational Qualification:




  • Minimum of 3 O’ levels.

  • A degree or certification in Aviation Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.


Experience:




  • Previous experience in ground operations, ramp handling, or a related role is required.

  • Experience as a Turnaround Coordinator or similar role in the aviation industry is highly desirable.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in using ground operations software and communication tools.


Licenses and Certifications:




  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance.

  • Relevant certifications in ground handling or aviation operations are an advantage.


Working Conditions:




  • Environment:

    • Work is primarily performed in an airport environment, with exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and aircraft operations.

    • Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hearing protection, safety shoes, safety vests, and gloves.



  • Physical requirements:

    • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the airport for extended periods.

    • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind and rain.

    • Must be able to respond quickly and efficiently in emergency situations.



  • Personal attributes:

    • Ability to work well under pressure.

    • Proactive and capable of working on one's own initiative.

    • Flexible to work on a roster basis.

    • Willing and able to take on overtime when required.

    • Willing to work in all the weather elements.



  • What we offer:

    • Starting salary of €17,000 gross.
