The Venue

Located in the gardens of Villa Bologna, one of Malta’s most beautiful palazzos, the Villa Bologna Restaurant has three large dining areas, including a beautiful garden, a charming courtyard, an indoor area, and also a cosy bar.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate Waiter / Waitress to join our team. As part of The Villa Bologna Restaurant team, your role is to look after our customers, ensuring they have a great time every time they come to our restaurant.

Main Duties

• Welcoming and seating guests, taking guest orders, communicating them effectively to the kitchen, and in addition, memorizing the menu and offering recommendations to upsell appetizers, desserts, or drinks.

• Greet customers and hand out menus.

• Take meal and beverage orders from customers and place these orders in the kitchen.

• Make menu recommendations and inform customers of any specials.

• Deliver meals and beverages to tables when they have been prepared.

• Check that customers are satisfied with their meal.

• Prepare the bill for tables when requested.

• Cash up bills and ensure that the correct amount has been paid.

• Administer changes to tables if needed.

• Provide excellent customer service to everyone, anticipating the guests' needs.

• Showing food and beverage knowledge through taking orders and providing advice on ingredients, dietary restrictions, and upselling.

• Help with the restaurant pre- and post-service setup.

Requirements

• Must have 2-3 years experience working in a high quality hotel or restaurant.

• Must have a passion for food and beverage and guest satisfaction.

• You have to be reliable, flexible, friendly, and happy to be a key part of the team that strives for success.

• Fluent in English.

• Available on a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
