Sports Trader

We are seeking an experienced Sports Trader to join our dynamic sportsbook team. In this role, you will trade and risk-manage sports markets (pre-match and in-play), ensuring accurate pricing, operational excellence, and robust market integrity.

This position is ideal for a sharp analytical mind who thrives under pressure, combines probability thinking with fast decision-making, and maintains disciplined risk control in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsible

• Risk and liability management – Monitor liabilities and exposure; take decisive action through pricing adjustments, bet limits, or other controls to protect margins and ensure sustainable profitability.

• Customer and risk monitoring – Identify sharp play, arbitrage patterns, and suspicious activity; flag anomalies and escalate when necessary.

• Bet management – Set and manage bet limits; manually review high-value or unusual requests according to risk framework and company policy.

• Market settlement and quality assurance – Ensure correct settlement of markets and act as quality control on results and bet outcomes to maintain operational integrity.

• Feed and data integration – Support the setup and maintenance of third-party feeds, including team / league mapping, troubleshooting with data providers, and ensuring data accuracy.

• Competitive analysis – Track competitor pricing and monitor sportsbook offer quality to maintain market competitiveness and identify opportunities.

• Cross-functional collaboration – Work closely with Customer Support, Product, and Technology teams to resolve disputes, interpret rules, handle incidents, and drive process improvements.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the same role (Sports Trader)

• Fluent Italian and English (written and spoken).

• Availability for shift work, including weekends and public holidays as required.

• Based in Malta – Available for on-site work (in person).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the Italian regulated market and related compliance processes (ADM) – a significant advantage.

• Hands-on experience with automated trading platforms, managed feeds, or third-party data providers.

• Familiarity with customer profiling, limit frameworks, and operational risk processes.
