Tool Maker

Matotech, a division of Seifert, is looking for a skilled and motivated Tool Maker to join our dedicated Tool Shop team in Malta. In this role, you will be at the heart of our production, ensuring our tooling and molds are manufactured and maintained to the highest standards.

The Role

As a Tool Maker, you will utilise both conventional and CNC machining equipment to manufacture, repair, and maintain injection moulds, press tools, jigs, and gauges. You will work closely with the Tool Room Coordinator to minimise downtime and ensure efficient production.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

• Programming and operating CNC (3-axis) and conventional machines (milling, lathes, grinding).

• Utilising CAD / CAM software (Creo Parametric, OneCNC) for design and programming.

• Performing troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on shop equipment.

• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with quality and environmental standards.

Requirements

• Experience: Proven experience in mould making and maintenance of injection molds / press tools is a significant asset. Experience with Spark or Wire Erosion is also highly valued.

• Qualifications: A recognised qualification in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering (MQF Level 4+) or a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a tool shop environment.

• Skills: Proficiency in English (written and spoken) and basic MS Office applications.
