Mechanical Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a qualified Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at a busy food manufacturing facility.

We are looking for an experienced, skilled, practical and hands-on technician with strong mechanical knowledge and experience maintaining production machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery

• Diagnose and repair faults and breakdowns

• Maintain and repair bearings, chains, belts, gearboxes, pumps, motors and other mechanical components

• Carry out machinery servicing, adjustments and repairs

• Identify potential mechanical problems and prevent unnecessary downtime

• Assist with machinery installation, modifications and improvements

• Carry out basic fault finding on electrical systems, pneumatic systems and components

• Work closely with the production team to keep machinery operating efficiently

• Follow all company health and safety and food hygiene requirements

Essential Requirements:

• Recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Maintenance or a related field

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment

• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills

• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and pneumatic systems. 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
