Middleweight Interior Designer

Origin Studio is growing, and we’re looking for a talented Middleweight Interior Designer to join our studio in Malta.

We’re looking for someone with 3+ years of professional interior design experience who is ready to take on meaningful responsibility across a growing portfolio of residential and hospitality projects.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can confidently take a project from design development through to detailed documentation and procurement — not simply assist in the background.

The role

You’ll work closely with the studio founder across a range of exciting projects, supporting both the creative and technical sides of the studio.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing complete and coordinated AutoCAD drawing packages, including plans, elevations, RCPs, electrical layouts, joinery details and other technical drawings

• Developing 3D models and designs in SketchUp

• Preparing and maintaining FF&E, finishes, lighting and sanitary schedules

• Sourcing furniture, lighting, finishes and materials

• Liaising with suppliers and requesting quotations

• Coordinating design information with contractors, consultants and suppliers

• Supporting projects through design development, procurement and implementation

• Taking ownership of tasks, deadlines and project deliverables

• Client-facing where required

Who we’re looking for:

• You’ll have 3+ years of relevant professional experience and be highly proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp.

• Just as importantly, we’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive and able to work independently.

• Someone who sees what needs to be done and takes initiative rather than waiting to be directed at every stage.

• You should be comfortable taking on real responsibility and genuinely want to become an important part of a growing studio.

Origin Studio

Origin Studio is at an exciting stage of growth, with a varied portfolio of characterful residential and hospitality projects in Malta and overseas. For the right person, this is an opportunity to grow alongside the studio rather than simply fill a position. We want someone who is ambitious, invested in the work and excited by the prospect of taking on increasing responsibility.

As your contribution and responsibility grow, we want your role and rewards to grow with them.

If you’re a strong designer with solid technical skills, good initiative and the ambition to become a key part of a growing studio, we’d love to hear from you.

To apply

Please send your CV and portfolio, including examples of technical drawing packages and completed design work.
