Mekanika is a leading operator in the building and engineering services industry, specialising in mechanical and electrical contracting, HVAC solutions, lifts and escalators, industrial products and facilities management. Due to continued growth and expansion, an exciting career opportunity has arisen for a Store Manager.

We are seeking an experienced, organised, and proactive individual to oversee the daily operations of our store and warehouse within the building services and warehousing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for inventory management, material control, staff supervision, and ensuring efficient store operations to support the various internal activities, projects, maintenance activities, and walk-in clients with a positive attitude.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, sound knowledge of mechanical (plumbing) and electrical building services materials, and the ability to maintain accurate stock levels while ensuring high operational standards.

Working as part of an existing team, the selected candidate would be expected to perform the following duties:

  • Manage daily store and warehouse operations in an efficient and safe manner.

  • Ensure proper receiving, storage, issuance, and recording of materials and equipment.

  • Maintain an organised stock arrangement for easy identification and retrieval.

  • Monitor stock movement and minimise shortages, overstocking, damage, and material loss.

  • Inventory Management

    • Conduct regular inventory checks and stock audits.

    • Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory systems.

    • Coordinate stock replenishment and purchase requests.

    • Monitor and maintain minimum and maximum stock levels.

    • Manage material handling.

    • Supervise the handling of building services materials, tools, spare parts, and consumables.

    • Ensure appropriate storage conditions for sensitive or hazardous materials.

    • Coordinate the dispatch and delivery of materials to project sites and customers.

  • Team Supervision

    • Supervise storekeepers, warehouse assistants, and support staff.

    • Allocate daily tasks and monitor team performance.

    • Ensure compliance with company procedures and safety standards.

    • Train staff on inventory and warehouse procedures.

    • Ensure workplace safety and housekeeping standards are maintained.

    • Follow company HSE policies and local regulations.

    • Report incidents, damages, or safety concerns immediately.

    • Manage and delegate as necessary.

  • Documentation and Reporting

    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.

    • Maintain delivery notes, GRNs, stock issue vouchers, and related documentation.

    • Coordinate with procurement, finance, and operations departments.

  • Supplier and Procurement Coordination

    • Liaise with suppliers for deliveries and material discrepancies.

    • Support the Procurement team with stock forecasts and urgent requirements.

    • Verify received quantities and quality against purchase orders.

    • Attend to walk-in clients in a professional, efficient, and customer-focused manner.

The selected candidate should preferably possess:

  • An advanced level of education.

  • A valid driving licence.

  • Strong computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • A minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in store or warehouse management.

  • Experience in the Building Services, Construction, MEP, Facilities Management, or Engineering industry is preferred.

  • Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
