Role Purpose
The Audit Associate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and overseeing the entire audit process from planning to completion. This role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality audit services.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit planning and execution: Lead the planning and execution of audit engagements for small to medium-sized companies, ensuring compliance with applicable auditing standards and regulations.
Financial statement preparation: Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and ensure accurate representation of clients' financial positions.
Client liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining effective communication to address audit-related inquiries and provide regular updates on engagement status.
Risk assessment: Identify and assess areas of significant business risk within clients' operations and develop audit strategies to address these risks.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and organized documentation of audit procedures, findings, and conclusions to support audit reports.
Regulatory compliance: Stay informed about changes in Maltese regulations and ensure that clients' financial practices comply with local laws and standards.
Use of tools: Utilize Microsoft Excel proficiently to analyze financial data and support audit processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education: A diploma-level qualification is required. Candidates actively pursuing ACCA certification will be given priority.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of local experience in a similar auditing role is mandatory.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Maltese regulations is essential. Experience in tax-related matters will be considered an asset.

Analytical skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data and identify discrepancies or areas of concern.
Problem-solving: Proficient in developing solutions to identified issues during the audit process.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential for effective client interactions and report writing.
Organizational skills: Demonstrates a high level of organization, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines efficiently.
Interpersonal skills: Maintains a positive demeanor and fosters strong working relationships with clients and team members.
Work Conditions:
Employment type: Full-time position.
Work environment: Primarily office-based with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement, subject to discussion during the interview process.
