The Position

The aim of Fondazzjoni Dar il-Hena includes assisting service users who are homeless and alleviating poverty through its various shelters and services. The primary responsibility of the role revolves around assessments and interventions with diverse client groups. You will be tasked with developing care plans and action plans, as well as actively participating in assessment conferences and reviews to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach. Our selected candidates must strive to provide service users with a professional standard of social work, which includes conducting accurate assessments and delivering timely interventions. The social worker is directly accountable to the Head of Home of the emergency shelters.

Responsibilities

  • Supports service users in comprehending their needs and assists them in formulating realistic functional objectives.

  • Formulates and implements suitable care plans for service users in collaboration with other professionals within the interdisciplinary team.

  • Coordinates and communicates with other agencies, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), and Government departments.

  • Assists in evaluating and monitoring the progress of service users.

  • Provides outreach services or arranges for their provision.

  • Stays updated with current social work issues and practices at both national and international levels to ensure a professional standard in service delivery.

  • Ensures thorough and confidential documentation and logging of all interventions conducted with service users in accordance with legal provisions.

  • possess good verbal and writing communication skills in both Maltese and English.

Eligibility Criteria

The successful candidate shall meet the following criteria:

  • A degree qualification in Social Work and a warrant.
