Fondazzjoni Dar il-Hena is currently seeking applications for the position of Psychosocial Professional on a full-time basis. The Psychosocial professional is directly accountable to the Head of Home of the emergency shelters.

The Role

The aim of Fondazzjoni Dar il-Hena includes assisting service users who are homeless and alleviating poverty through its various shelters and services. The primary responsibility of the role involves supporting service users experiencing homelessness on their psycho-social needs whilst they are using our services, ensuring a well-coordinated and effective approach. We are looking for people who are motivated to make a meaningful difference through their skills, compassion and supportive approach.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing comprehensive psychosocial services to individuals experiencing homelessness 

  • Coordinate the intake process together with the Head of Home and  individuals seeking shelter to identify immediate needs, strengths, and potential barriers to housing stability

  • Supports service users in comprehending their needs and assists them in formulating realistic functional objectives.

  • Facilitating the development and implementation of suitable care plans for service users in collaboration with other professionals within the interdisciplinary team.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team: Work closely with shelter staff, case managers, healthcare providers, and community partners to deliver integrated services, address client needs comprehensively, and provide seamless care.

  • Coordinates and communicates with other agencies, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), and Government departments.

  • Assists in evaluating and monitoring the progress of service users.

  • Provides outreach services or arranges for their provision.

  • Ensures thorough and confidential documentation and logging of all interventions conducted with service users in accordance with legal provisions.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A degree qualification in a social well-being subject.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working directly with clients / service users. 

  • possess good verbal and writing communication skills in both Maltese and English.
