We’re seeking an experienced Facility Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our elderly care residence in Għajnsielem. You will ensure high-quality care and facility services, champion resident dignity and wellbeing, and coordinate with external stakeholders and the national regulator to maintain full compliance.
Key responsibilities
Provide overall leadership for care and support services, maintaining person‑centred, evidence‑based standards of care and safeguarding residents’ dignity and quality of life.
Oversee service delivery across nursing / care, housekeeping, catering, maintenance and reception; ensure kitchen operations meet legal and HACCP requirements and that cleaning standards are consistently achieved.
Ensure facility compliance with regulatory requirements; prepare for inspections and liaise proactively with the national regulator and other external stakeholders.
Lead, coach and develop multidisciplinary teams (circa 90 people), fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Own budgeting, resource planning, and procurement in line with company policies, optimising efficiency without compromising care standards.
Build constructive relationships with residents, families, community partners and suppliers; handle escalations with empathy and resolve issues swiftly.
Drive quality initiatives, audits and risk management; track KPIs and produce operational reports for leadership.
What you’ll bring
Education: MQF Level 6 qualification in a health‑related field (preferably Nursing).
Experience: Proven leadership in a healthcare or residential care setting; direct experience managing large, multi‑disciplinary teams.
Language: Working knowledge of Maltese (spoken and written) is essential to communicate effectively with residents and relatives.
Strong grasp of management concepts (governance, people leadership, financial stewardship, quality and risk).
Confident stakeholder management; comfortable collaborating with regulators and external partners.
