The Role

As a Biomedical Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and reliability of medical equipment used in healthcare facilities. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of biomedical equipment, including but not limited to patient monitors, infusion pumps, defibrillators, and imaging systems. Your primary objective will be to ensure that medical devices are operating efficiently, meeting regulatory standards, and contributing to the delivery of safe and effective patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, calibrate, and maintain biomedical equipment according to manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and quality assurance checks on medical devices.

  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted patient care.

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to address equipment-related issues and implement solutions.

  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and service reports in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.

  • Stay informed about advances in biomedical technology and participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Biomedical Technician or a similar role in the healthcare industry will be considered an asset.

  • Strong understanding of medical equipment operation, maintenance, and repair techniques.

  • Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
