Junior Client Accountant

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for finance? We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our finance team and build hands-on experience in client accounting. The role involves working directly with clients and supporting their day-to-day accounting and financial requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing and recording client invoices, payments, receipts and other financial transactions, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records

• Posting bank and petty cash statements, and conducting reconciliations

• Following up with clients to ensure timely payments

• Assisting with client month-end reporting and reconciliation tasks

• Preparing and submitting Maltese VAT and tax returns

• Ensuring compliance with statutory reporting requirements and deadlines

• Liaising with clients and acting as a point of contact for day-to-day accounting and financial queries

• Preparing management accounts

• Assisting with audit processes and liaising with auditors, as required

Skills and Experience:

• A minimum of 6 months of local experience in accounts or bookkeeping

• Practical experience with Maltese VAT

• Strong understanding of financial processes, including invoicing and reconciliations

• Proficiency in Xero and Shireburn would be considered an asset

• Proficient in MS Excel

• Excellent communication skills for liaising effectively with both internal teams and clients

• A good knowledge of the English language is a must

• Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset

Salary: €28,000 - €35,000, depending on experience.
