The Housekeeping Supervisor will oversee the work of Housekeeping staff and ensure that hotel rooms and facilities are kept clean and tidy, in accordance with the established standards.

The Housekeeping Supervisor will oversee the work of Housekeeping staff and ensure that hotel rooms and facilities are kept clean and tidy, in accordance with the established standards.
Key responsibilities and tasks:
- Training Room Attendants on cleaning tasks and reporting maintenance issues.
- Overseeing staff on a daily basis.
- Checking rooms and common areas, including stairways and lounge areas, for cleanliness.
- Scheduling shifts and arranging for replacements in cases of absence.
- Establishing and educating staff on cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene standards.
- Motivating team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job.
- Responding to guest complaints and special requests.
- Monitoring and replenishing cleaning products stock including floor cleaner, bleach and rubber gloves.
- Participating in large cleaning projects as required.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas.
- Assigning room attendants their duties and inspecting work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
- Investigating complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.
- Obtaining list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.
- Coordinating work activities among departments.
- Conducting orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
- Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
- Evaluating records to forecast department personnel requirements.
- Making recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.
- Performing cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
- Examining the property to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment, and making recommendations to management.
- Attending staff meetings.
- Issuing supplies and equipment to workers.
- Establishing standards and procedures for work of housekeeping staff.
- Communicating when rooms are ready for occupancy.
- Any other ad-hoc duties according to the exigencies of the company.
The potential candidate will ideally possess the following skills and qualities:
- A minimum of 2 years of housekeeping experience.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Able to work shifts, including early morning, evenings and weekends.
- Guest service skills.
