Spa Therapist

Responsibilities:

• Performing different types of massages

• Maintaining detailed records of massages, treatments and therapies performed on each spa guest

• Communicating with guests during massages to adjust massage techniques as required

• Resolving guest complaints and reporting any accidents to the manager

• Cleaning and sanitising work areas, changing treatment room sheets, and sterilising all instruments and equipment before each use

• Explaining massages, treatments and therapies to guests and providing suitable recommendations as needed

• Ensuring that the spa is adequately stocked with spa supplies and reporting shortages to the manager, and maintaining inventory of products

• Enquiring about guests’ medical conditions and allergies before providing spa services

• Suggesting and promoting retail products or additional services

• Contributing to the team environment by assisting spa colleagues in all areas

• Assisting in any ad-hoc duties that might arise in the Spa

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Minimum of 1 year proven work experience as a Spa therapist

• Hands-on experience in massage techniques, face/body therapies, nails, etc

• Experience in sales will be considered an asset

• Excellent knowledge of the English Language

• Communication and customer service skills

• Positive attitude

• User-level computer skills

• Degree related to the role is considered an asset

• Team player

• Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to a range of work situations
