The 1926 Collection is seeking to recruit a Boutique Hotels Supervisor to champion the day-to-day operations and guest relations functions at its Valletta properties, 1926 Le Parisot and 1926 La Galerie.
Responsibilities
Allocation of resources
Prepare and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage across all shifts
Monitor attendance, manage shift changes, and ensure compliance with
labour regulations
Maintaining standards
Ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas are cleaned, set up and prepared in accordance with the requisite standards
Ensuring that the breakfast operation is adequately prepared and set up in accordance with the requisite standards
Assisting in the daily operations, ensuring smooth handovers between shifts
Liaising with the Head of Operations to communicate ideas for operational improvements
Inventory and stock management
Conducting regular and accurate stocktakes of drinks, amenities, and equipment
Ensuring all supplies are adequately stocked, tracked, and ordered in a timely manner
Property condition
Regularly inspecting rooms and hotel areas to ensure that the property is in the correct condition
Flagging and reporting maintenance issues to the respective departments/ suppliers
Hospitality
Ensuring a consistently high level of guest satisfaction through proactive engagement and service excellence
Addressing guest complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring appropriate follow-up and escalation when needed
Circulating amongst guests during the breakfast service, to take feedback and action accordingly
Liaising with the Head of Hospitality on guest issues, complaints and feedback
Ensuring that the requisite preparations for VIP guests and special occasions are in place
Liaising with the Head of Hospitality on any guest-relations initiatives and communicating these with guests
Taking a proactive approach towards guest hospitality, and communicating ideas and suggestions to the Head of Hospitality
Taking ownership of the weekly aperitivo and ensuring suitable preparation
La Galerie: Being aware of scheduled art exhibitions, ensuring that these are communicated with hotel guests to minimise disruptions, making the requisite preparations, and ensuring own presence during these events
Skills and Qualities
The potential candidate will ideally possess the following:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role in the hospitality industry
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience using the Opera system will be considered an asset
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
High level of attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including evening shifts, weekends, and holidays
Knowledge of Housekeeping operations and an eye for detail
