VF Group, Malta’s leader in the luxury fashion retail, outdoor media and uniformity business is seeking to recruit an experienced individual in the position Senior Accountant / Finance Manager to join our team on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities
As a vital member of the VF Group team in Malta, your role will encompass a variety of important tasks, including:
- Accounts payable and receivable management: Oversee and manage the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring that all transactions are handled with accuracy and efficiency.
- General ledger maintenance: Regularly update and review general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness, maintaining a reliable financial record.
- Bank reconciliations: Conduct thorough bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Closing procedures: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring that all reporting is completed accurately and on time.
- Financial reporting: Prepare, analyse, and present management reports, providing valuable insights and actionable recommendations.
- Financial statement Preparation: Coordinate and oversee the preparation of comprehensive financial statements, ensuring that all financial reporting obligations are met.
- Liaison with Tax and Audit teams: Work closely with tax and audit teams, supplying the necessary financial information and support for your assigned clients.
- Regulatory compliance: Ensure that all accounting activities comply with relevant regulations, staying informed about new industry practices and standards.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior staff members, contributing to their professional growth and development.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent qualification is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a proven track record in a similar role.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience with local and international accounting standards and regulations.
- Previous experience in a similar accounting role.

- Excellent command of English, both spoken and written; Maltese language skills are a plus.
