Job Description

Uniplural Group is a group of companies offering diversification within industries.

The Group is growing and is seeking to recruit a Sous Chef responsible for kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation of high-quality meals, and maintaining a smooth workflow in the kitchen. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support in running the kitchen efficiently and effectively. Oversee the preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes according to the restaurant’s menu and standards.
  • Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation. Assign tasks and ensure all team members are working efficiently and safely.
  • Monitor the quality of food production, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes. Address any issues related to food quality or consistency immediately.
  • Collaborate to create and update the menu, ensuring seasonal and creative dishes that meet customer expectations.
  • Help manage inventory levels, assist in ordering ingredients, and ensure proper storage of food items. Maintain control over food waste and portioning to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Ensure all kitchen activities adhere to food safety standards, including sanitation, proper food handling, and hygiene practices. Maintain clean workspaces and ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented environment, working closely with the entire kitchen staff, front-of-house teams, and management to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Address any operational issues or staff challenges that arise in a timely and effective manner.

Qualifications

  • A Culinary degree or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role.
  • Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of food preparation, presentation, and kitchen operations.
  • Leadership ability with experience managing and mentoring kitchen staff.
  • Food Handling certificate.

Skills

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and be adaptable to changing priorities.
