Uniplural Group is a group of companies offering diversification within industries. The Group is growing and is seeking to recruit a Payroll Officer to join its Finance team.

Job Summary
The Payroll Officer is responsible for processing the company’s payroll on a timely and accurate basis. This includes ensuring compliance with tax regulations, record-keeping, and providing high-quality support to employees on payroll-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and process payroll on a regular schedule.

  • Ensure accurate calculation of employee wages, deductions, overtime, bonuses, and commissions.

  • Process payroll adjustments, ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations and labour laws, including withholding taxes and ensuring proper reporting.

  • File and submit CFR forms, such as payroll tax filings, employee earnings statements.

  • Stay up to date with changes in tax laws, benefits programs, and employment legislation.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records, including personal details, tax withholding information, and direct deposit information.

  • Process engagements, terminations, and employee status changes, ensuring that payroll records are adjusted accordingly.

  • Respond to inquiries from employees regarding payroll issues, benefits, and deductions.

  • Prepare and provide regular payroll reports, including payroll summaries, tax reports, and other requested reports for management.

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting related to payroll expenses.

  • Track and report on any payroll discrepancies, errors, or overpayments, ensuring timely resolution.

  • Work closely with the HR department.

  • Conduct regular payroll audits to identify discrepancies or errors and ensure payroll data integrity.

  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies between payroll and finance records.

  • Maintain confidentiality of employee salary and payroll-related information.

  • Ensure all payroll data is securely stored and protected in compliance with company policy and relevant privacy regulations.

  • Assist with HR related functions such as personnel records management, benefits enrolment, and employee leave tracking as needed.

  • Participate in any payroll system upgrades, training, or other improvements.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll administration.

  • Experience with Shireburn Payroll Software is an asset.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel and Word.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
