Role Description
The Childcare Centre Manager is responsible for the overall operation, management, and quality of care provided at the childcare facility. This role involves leading a team of educators, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the childcare centre, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.

  • Recruit, train, and manage staff, fostering professional development and teamwork.

  • Conduct regular staff meetings and performance evaluations.

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.

  • Ensure that programs meet the developmental needs of children and align with regulatory standards.

  • Maintain compliance with all Maltese legal regulations regarding childcare.

  • Ensure that health and safety standards are met, conducting regular safety inspections and drills.

  • Build strong relationships with parents and families, maintaining open lines of communication.

  • Organize parent meetings and community events to foster engagement and collaboration.

  • Manage the centre's budget, including enrollment collection, and expense management.

  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of care and education provided, implementing improvements as necessary.

  • Prepare for and participate in inspections and accreditation processes.

  • Act as the childcare centre's point of reference.


Requirements

  • A MQF level 5 qualification in Early Childhood Management.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a childcare or educational setting, with at least 3 years in a management role.

  • Certification in Paediatric First Aid and Food Handling.


Skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to develop positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Proficiency in computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, childcare management software).
