Job Description
We are currently seeking a Tool Maker to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To perform any unsupervised work related to his / her job scheduled daily in at least one branch of the machine shop.
- To be able to work on bench work.
- To adhere to the established job procedures as outlined by the department head.
- To assist in other work related to his / her job as indicated and when required.
- To document the required information as per the department’s reporting system.
- To adhere to any compliance standards set by the company.
- To attend any training programs related to the job and / or any other training requested by the company.
- To update one’s skills in accordance with local legislation or company requirements.
- To be compliant with all relative jobs of lower mould maker grades.
- To manufacture complex components and moulds, both O-rings and non-O-rings with low supervision.
- To read and interpret medium complex drawings.
- To inspect and guarantee the quality of parts produced.
- To perform a medium level of maintenance on the equipment / machine in his / her area.
- To follow working procedures in his / her competence area and suggest any improvements to improve quality and / or efficiency.
- To have problem-solving skills and be able to go to the production area and assess problems related to our moulds or other ancillaries.
- To be able to fill the quality report during tool manufacturing.
- To attend safety procedures within the Tool Room department.
- To understand safety procedures related to a machine shop and understand how to use and wear safety equipment.
- To adhere to all related Health and Safety procedures; these can be updated from time to time according to the requirements of the job.
Qualifications / Skills
- A National Diploma in Manufacturing (or equivalent) is considered an asset for this post.
- Knowledge of CAD and CAM software is considered as an asset.
- Previous experience working with laser welding machines is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Certificate in Fire Fighter (Training is provided in-house if certificate is not available).
