We are seeking a reliable and proactive School Maintenance Person to join our team. This individual will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, ensuring that everything is functioning properly and in good working order. The ideal candidate will handle maintenance duties, assist with day-to-day errands, and provide essential support to the staff and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs and minor repairs including plumbing systems, painting, and setting up classrooms. 

  • Inspect electrical fittings and report defects as required.

  • Regularly inspect / plumbing and report / repair defects as appropriate.

  • Order and take delivery of materials to deal with repairs mentioned above in line with institution policy.

  • Responsible for hygiene / cleaning materials that are placed in all toilettes / kitchens / where stipulated by the institution policy.

  • Watering and caring for the plants around the school.

  • Assist with off-site tasks like driving staff members and running errands per line manager request and according to institution requirements.

  • Ensure classrooms and common areas are set up and maintained as needed for events and daily operations.

  • Act as a general caretaker for the school, ensuring that the grounds and facilities are safe, clean, and well-maintained.

  • Coordinate with school management on any repairs or improvements required around the building.

  • Respond to any ad-hoc requests from staff or management.


Requirements:

  • Valid and clean driver's license.

  • Basic maintenance and handyman skills (e.g., painting, light repairs).

  • Solid knowledge of electrical systems, and plumbing as well as the ability to deal with power tools and hardware.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of general building maintenance.

  • Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy objects.


Working Hours
Typical hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. These hours can change according to the institution's needs including working on Saturdays.
