Application Programmer

A vacancy has arisen for an Application Programmer within the MIS department.

The chosen candidate will be responsible for a number of tasks and amongst others will:

• Evaluate new user requirements and recommend improvements to existing information systems;


• Design and develop new Information Systems software modules required to meet business proposals;


• Generates program code using industry standards and within the specified system parameters;


• Maintains in-house developed software packages and extensions;


• Documents and where necessary trains others in any in-house software development;


• The chosen candidate should hold a MQF level 3 qualification in English and Mathematics together with a MQF level 5 certification in a relevant subject.

Ideal candidates would also have knowledge and be proficient in:

• IBM iSeries Environment;


• Microsoft Windows environment (Visual Studio, Office applications, SQL Server and SharePoint);


• Microsoft Windows 10 and 11 environments;


• Relational DBMS concepts and design;


• Structured programming design concepts and practices;


• A minimum of two years’ experience in IT application development and ABAP knowledge will be considered an asset.
