Job Description
Paradise Bay Hotel Limited in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Carpenter / General Maintenance Person to join their team on a full-time basis.
Role
Responsible for performing a variety of carpentry and general maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep and functionality of our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Reports to
Maintenance Manager and will liaise with all Heads of Department as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Conduct inspections of facilities and equipment to identify issues and recommend solutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Assist in the planning and execution of renovation and remodeling projects.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and prioritize tasks effectively.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar maintenance role.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.
