Shop Assistant

We are currently looking to recruit a full-time Shop Assistant to join our team and work at our optical outlet in Valletta.

Details of the job are as follows:

• Work as part of our professional team to deliver exceptional customer service to all of our customers


• Positively promote the shop; greeting customers cordially and offering advice and information on products and services


• Assisting and advising patients when selecting frames and/or contact lenses following an eye examination; ensuring all measurements are taken correctly and professionally


• Reception duties such as answering the phones, ensuring the in-house system is accurately maintained


• Liaise with the Opticians Manager to ensure the shop runs efficiently


• Arranging and maintaining shop displays


• Ensuring the shop is kept clean and tidy at all times

Key skills and attributes

• Must be smart, outgoing and have an approachable attitude on the shop floor


• Previous optical assistant experience is not essential since training will be provided, however, experience in the following fields would be advantageous


• Excellent sales and influencing skills


• Passion for excellent customer service


• Commitment and flexibility


• Responsible and reliable


• Maltese speaking. The ability to speak fluently a second language like English is a plus
