Senior Accounts Executive

MCConsult & Associates Ltd in Malta is looking to recruit a Senior Accounts Executive to join their team on a full-time basis.

The selected candidate will primarily report directly to the CEO and General Manager.

Responsibilities Include:

• Overseeing the duties of the Accounts Clerk;
  
  
  
  • Keeping books of account and posting transactions in SAGE 50;
  
  
  • The preparation of bank and other reconciliations (debtors, creditors);
  
  
  • Ensuring databases and filing systems are up to date;
  
  
  
  


• Issuing of quotes and invoices;


• Bank authorisation to make payments to suppliers, tax authorities and others.


• Debtor chasing;


• Keeping fixed asset schedule;


• Preparing and submitting VAT returns;


• Preparing FSS calculations and returns;


• Preparing management accounts;


• Liaising with independent auditors;


• Applying for schemes and grants;


• Preparing quarterly reports to the CEO;


• Dealing with government authorities;


• Dealing with clients’ queries and emails;


• Performing other duties that may arise.

Applicant Should:

• Be proficient in the use of SAGE 50 and Microsoft Office;


• Have strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Any other language would be considered an asset;


• Be accurate and attentive to detail;


• Be well-organised;


• Be capable of working well in a team or independently;


• Be capable of respecting deadlines;


• Be able to problem solve independently and ask questions when needed;


• Be able to approach the position pro-actively with the ability and desire to learn and be an independent worker;


• If a question / problem arises outside of his/her realm of knowledge, be ready to ask for help and seek out the answer.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role;


• The ideal candidate must be in possession of a minimum A level in Accounts and at least 5 years’ experience in a corporate environment, accountant or audit firm;


• Previous experience in Sage Line 50 and other accounting software would be an asset;


• If the applicant does not have any qualifications, they must have a minimum of 5 years experience in an office environment;


• Applicants must have all the necessary Maltese work permits and are already resident in Malta.
