Responsibilities:
- Assisting with monthly payroll: Support the payroll process, including verifying of timesheets and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Accounts payable and receivable: Assist with processing invoices, making payments, and managing incoming payments, ensuring accurate and timely transaction processing.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, ledgers, and financial transactions to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial records.
- Communication and coordination: Liaise with other departments, vendors, and clients to resolve financial issues, answer queries, and provide necessary information.
- Data entry and maintenance: Accurately enter financial data into accounting systems and maintain up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
- Document management: Organize and maintain financial documents, including invoices, receipts, and contracts, ensuring they are easily accessible and properly archived.
- Expense tracking: Monitor and track company expenses, ensuring all expenditures are documented and properly categorized.
- Financial reporting: Prepare basic financial reports, summaries, and analysis, assisting the Finance Team Lead in the preparation of more complex financial reports.
- Credit control: Ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments, and maintaining effective communication with clients to minimise financial risk.
- Handling of bank deposits and payments.
- Assist with external and annual audits as needed.
- General office administration duties.
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Finance Team Lead.
Skills Required:
- Accounts A' level qualifications or better.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience working in a Finance or Accounting role.
- Proficiency in computer use and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Knowledge of XERO online accounting system would be considered an asset.
- Fluency in both written and spoken Maltese and English.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Attention to detail, diligence and confidentiality in all tasks assigned.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines proactively.
- Capable of working independently and with minimal supervision.
- Responsible, reliable and highly organized.
