The Personal Lines Clerk typically handles administrative and support tasks related to personal insurance policies, which include motor, home, travel and life policies. This role is vital for ensuring the smooth operation of personal lines insurance services and providing excellent customer service to policyholders.

Key duties and responsibilities include

  • Serving as a point of contact for clients, answering queries, providing information on products and services and resolving issues related to personal insurance policies.

  • Liaising with clients requesting quotes and renewals for, or amendments to, their Personal Insurance policies (which include motor, home, travel policies and any other policies that may be launched from time to time).

  • Entering data, preparing documents and maintaining records accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Liaising with Brokers and Tied Insurance Intermediaries on referrals and any technical matters arising including communication about policy changes, underwriting requirements and other relevant issues.

  • Chasing clients for policy renewals.

  • Handling Life Insurance enquiries from clients requesting quotes/new policies, mainly for Loan Protection Plans.

  • Performing day-to-day activities such as issuing invoices and managing receipts and dealing with banks for pledge forms, as required.

  • Any other related duty that might be necessary to achieve the department’s goals.


Skills and qualifications

  • Experience in an administrative or clerical role will be considered an asset.

  • Fluent in both written and spoken English, with other language skills being considered an asset.

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Possess strong customer service skills.

  • Be organised with a sharp eye for detail.

  • Be a team player.

  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar.

  • Possess an understanding of regulations and compliance requirements relevant to the role.
