The Administrator – Marketing and PR will be responsible for developing PR and marketing plans that communicate key messages, promote product and services, and manage the reputation of the institute and expectation of key stakeholders. The role includes creation and delivery of all marketing material, public relations using all forms of media and communications, building and maintaining key stakeholder and patron relationships and be responsible for maintaining the website and market all activities.

Essential Communications Functions

  • Implementing PR strategies.

  • Building relationships with the media.

  • Writing press releases and generating publicity.

  • Writing reports on media coverage data.

  • Overseeing content production (adverts, videos, social media and online PR stunts).

  • Be responsible for press conferences and events.

  • Overseeing market research.

  • Managing client relationships.

  • Overseeing social media PR strategies.


Essential Marketing Functions

  • To check the status of marketing activities periodically.

  • To review the financing of new marketing campaigns to keep strict control over costs.

  • To supervise and be responsible for all advertising campaigns.

  • To manage market research activities on new and existing products.

  • To monitor all customer contact activities to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • To maintain a positive working relationship with all media.

  • To produce all corporate literature and other marketing communication tools and to ensure that they conform to the corporate image.

  • To manage the company’s participation in fairs, conferences, seminars and other activities in Malta and overseas.

  • To act as liaison to outside advertising agency for ongoing campaigns.

  • To assist in the recruitment of marketing personnel.

  • To prepare the operational plan and budget of the marketing department.

  • To seek advice and determine process, discounts and commissions.

  • To provide an analytical monthly report on the progress of the marketing department.

  • To direct subordinates in meeting their work objectives.

  • To train and appraise the performance of subordinates.

  • To perform any other duties assigned from time to time.


Person Specification

  • Must have excellent communication skills.

  • Must be a creative person.

  • Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment and may be required to work extended hours as needed.


Eligibility Criteria
By the closing date and time of the application, eligible applicants must be:

  • In possession of a recognised qualification at MQF Level 6, with a minimum of 180 ECTS/ECVETS or equivalent in humanities or social sciences or an appropriate, recognised, comparable qualification and at least one (1) year proven relevant work experience; Or

  • In possession of a recognised qualification at MQF Level 5, with a minimum of 60 ECTS/ECVETS or equivalent in humanities or social sciences or an appropriate, recognised, comparable qualification and at least three (3) years’ proven relevant work experience; Or

  • In possession of a recognised qualification at MQF Level 4, and at least six (6) years’ proven relevant work experience; Or

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications;

  • Due consideration will be given to applicants who, besides the requisites indicated above, have proven relevant work experience within a marketing and PR environment.


Note

  • (a) With respect to qualification produced in response to this call for applications, applicants are required a recognition statement by the Malta Qualification Recognition Information centre (MQRIC) based within the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), or by any other designated authority, as applicable. Such statement should be attached to the application and the original presented at the interview.

  • (b) Applicants who are not in possession of such a statement may still apply, provided that they submit a copy of the statement to the receiving department / directorate as soon as it is available and, in any case, by not later than one month from the closing date of the call for application. Applicants who fail to present the required statement within the one-month period for reasons beyond their control may request an extension of this time limit, up to a further one month, from the department / directorate receiving the applications, indicating clearly the reasons for the delay. Requests for extension beyond their period are to be submitted for the consideration of the Public Service Commission.

  • (c) Applicants are exempt from the above requirement in respect of qualifications obtained from accredited universities or other accredited institutions that are listed and available for download from the MQRIC page of the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority website. In cases of doubt, however, the selection board may set aside this exemption and direct an applicant to procure a recognition statement from MQRIC. In such a case the applicant shall be given one month to procure the statement, subject to the possibility of extension as provided for in sub-paragraph (b) above.


Reporting to: Senior Manager – Marketing and PR and / or her delegate.

Trial Period: Twelve (12) months.
