General scope and purpose of the position
We are currently looking for an experienced, dedicated professional to join our team as a Behaviour Specialist on a Full-Time basis. Our Behaviour Specialist shall deliver personalized care and behavioural interventions to service users, primarily utilizing the TEACHH and SPELL methods, among other approaches.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Create behavioural support plans for the service users, in particular, service users who exhibit severe challenging behaviour within the programme and are either directly referred to by the programme leaders and / or following their own observations.

  • Hold regular observations of the service users within the various therapies and / or other activities in the programmes, report such observations, and follow up with the recommended interventions.

  • Ensure full compliance with internal policies and procedures and inform the necessary departments should any gaps or flaws be identified.

  • Provide training to staff, either through modelling or otherwise, on best approaches in dealing with challenging behaviour, and any other training related to the field of behavioural analysis which are in line with the specialization of the Behaviour Specialist.

  • Support staff members in dealing with service users with challenging behaviour including providing ‘hands-on' support where necessary.

  • Refer to existing guidelines where applicable and discuss with experts where necessary.

  • Be active in promoting good practice across the Organization, ensuring that any policy and process changes are communicated and implemented effectively.

  • Abide to health and safety requirements under the guidance of the Health and Safety consultants.


The ideal candidate should be in possession of the following

  • Bachelor’s degree (Honours) qualification (equivalent to MQF Level 6) in Psychology & an MQF Level 7 qualification in a relevant field.

  • A minimum of 3 years post-graduation experience working within the field of psychology with individuals with behaviours of concern and autism.

  • Knowledge on usage of VB MAPP assessment, PEAK relational training and System Knowledge of Skills streaming social skills curriculum will be considered as an asset.

  • Previous experience of working in a multidisciplinary team.

  • Prior to being recruited and throughout the duration of employment, the selected candidates need to satisfy the requirements of the Protection of Minors Act (POMA) together with those of immunisation.
